Customs Control

Arriving or departing Bamberg from/to non-EU countries generally requires customs clearance, if you have goods to declare. Please send the application form 'Exemption from use of customs approved airport' to poststelle.hza-schweinfurt [at] zoll.bund.detitle="Send an email to the customs office in Schweinfurt" (customs office Schweinfurt).

Border Control

Flights from/to countries which are part of the Schengen-zone do not require border control. For other countries an application for single border entry is possible for business flights only. Please send both of the following forms to grenzerlaubnis [at] polizei.bayern.detitle="Send an email to the Bavarian Border Police" (Bavarian Border Police): application for single border entry (German only) including attachment report of international flights.

For private flights, leaving or entering the Schengen-zone, passport control is mandatory at an airport with border control, e.g. Nuernberg (EDDN).
